Binh Phuoc: ACDC Training Courses Provided to the Association of Persons with Disabilities for Group Capacity Building

2016: Under its project framework of “Support to Disability, 2015 – 2018,” ACDC has organized 3 training courses in the town of Dong Xoai aimed at enhancing the resource and staff service capacity of the union, “Association of Persons with Disabilities.” On November 4th-6th, ACDC hosted a seminar on writing project proposals for the USAID-sponsored “Small Grants Program” to improve building access and transport for people with disabilities. Training also provided knowledge about the rules and standards of public works housing to ensure access for the disabled. Approximately 40 representatives for the disabled from all core districts of Binh Phuoc attended the lively exchange of lessons and practical experience led by ACDC project coordinator, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Minh, and Tran Thi Thanh Italy, Deputy Director of the Institute for Planning and Urban Development. On November 18th-20th, attendees at the adult training series enthusiastically thanked Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh and Dam Ha, the respective Director and Deputy Director of ACDC, for their useful and energizing thematic lectures on the leadership skills and knowledge needed for a fundraising association for the disabled to succeed.

On December 5^th, 2016, ACDC also coordinated with the Disability Association of Binh Phuoc Province to hold activities in celebration of United Nation’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
