From July 29 to August 1, 2025, ACDC collaborated with the Quang Tri Provincial Health Department to conduct screening, rehabilitation and care assessment for more than 250 persons with disabilities across six communes: Cam Lo, Hieu Giang, Nam Cua Viet, Trieu Co, Trieu Binh, and Ai Tu.

During these sessions, healthcare professionals specializing in rehabilitation and general health care conducted comprehensive examinations to assess overall health conditions. They also performed rehabilitation evaluations, including mobility, movement, and daily living activities. In addition, the team assessed key areas requiring care, such as respiratory function, nutrition, pressure ulcer prevention and care, nutritional care, sleep disorder management, personal hygiene, oral hygiene, safety, and fall prevention.

Persons with disabilities receive enthusiastic support from healthcare staff in terms of healthcare and daily living functions

Ms. H.T.B, a person with a disability from Hieu Giang commune, shared: "Today, I am deeply touched. Due to my disability, I cannot travel far, and since my family is small and without support, there is no one to take me to the local health station. I am truly grateful to the medical team for coming directly to my home and providing such attentive health check-ups."

Healthcare staff proactively approach and measure blood pressure for persons with disabilities who have mobility difficulties

Dr. Nguyen Quang, Director of the Cam Lo Regional Health Center, stated: "This is the fourth year that the Project has partnered with our health center to conduct screening and assess basic functions to identify persons with disabilities in need of home-based rehabilitation and care services. Our center has worked closely with the project, extending its activities down to the grassroots level and assigning qualified and experienced staff to participate. This activity is incredibly meaningful for the local disability community. Both the Cam Lo Regional Health Center and I are very pleased to contribute to this valuable effort."

This activity is part of the project “Improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in provinces sprayed with Agent Orange”, which is being implemented in three provinces: Quang Tri, Hue City, and Da Nang City. The project is funded by the United States Government and led by the National Action Center for Toxic Chemicals and Environmental Treatment (NACCET) under the Ministry of National Defense. ACDC is one of the implementing partners under the management of the Center for Creative Initiatives in Health and Population (CCIHP).
