In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year (Tết), on 6 February 2026, the Action to the Community Development Institute (ACDC) organized the handover of sewing machines and tailoring equipment to two households of women with disabilities in Hue City. These livelihood models had been carefully assessed, prepared, and completed in recent months, aiming to enable persons with disabilities to work stably from home, gradually increase their income, and improve their quality of life.

The support package included sewing machines, overlock machines, and essential tools for home-based garment production, along with assistance in connecting to supply sources and providing guidance on organizing work in ways suited to each household’s health conditions. Home-based garment production is considered a suitable livelihood model for women with disabilities, as it allows flexible working hours, reduces the need for travel, and provides a relatively stable source of income.

Sharing at the handover ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Anh, a woman with a disability from Đan Điền Commune, said: “I sincerely thank the Action to the Community Development Institute and the Love, Tito’s program for sponsoring and providing sewing machines, overlock machines, and other equipment to support tailoring work. Previously, due to the lack of machinery and equipment, my garment work was very difficult and income was unstable. With this timely support, I am very happy and encouraged. After receiving this assistance, I will be able to take on more orders, produce more products, and thereby improve my income and daily living conditions. I am truly grateful for this meaningful support.”

Also receiving support in this round, Ms. Lê Thi Cam Vân, a woman with a disability from Hương Thủy Ward, shared: “I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to the sponsors for accompanying women with disabilities in livelihood development activities. I will try to take on more tailoring orders to increase my income and stabilize my life. I am truly very happy and grateful to ACDC and the Love, Tito’s program for their encouragement and support, which gives me greater motivation to continue developing my home-based tailoring work in the coming time.”

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, Project Officer at ACDC, noted that livelihood support goes beyond providing equipment; it also focuses on counselling, connecting market opportunities, and monitoring progress so that households can maintain their activities in the long term. The programme aims to help persons with disabilities gradually generate their own income, strengthen confidence, and participate more actively in community life.

These small but practical livelihood models not only help improve income but also enhance confidence, working capacity, and participation of persons with disabilities in society. With appropriate opportunities and support, persons with disabilities can actively create value, care for their families, and build more stable lives.

This activity is part of ACDC’s livelihood support programme for persons with disabilities. ACDC sincerely acknowledges and appreciates the sponsorship and partnership of the “Love, Tito’s” programme, whose support has created meaningful livelihood opportunities for women with disabilities in the local community.
