Quang Nam: Monthly meeting of Duy Xuyen’s Women with Disabilities Club

On the morning of April 28, 2023, the Action to the Community Development Institute (ACDC), in collaboration with Duy Xuyen’s Women with Disabilities Club, organized a monthly meeting to commemorate the 48th anniversary of the Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2023) and the 137th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2023). The meeting was carried out within the framework of the Inclusion 1 project implemented by ACDC with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The event included many useful activities related to the state's policies for people with disabilities.

There were some special guests invited to the meeting, namely Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Association of Persons with Disabilities in Quang Nam; Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Huong, Deputy Head of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Duy Xuyen district; Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh, Chairman of the Blind and Disabled Association in Duy Xuyen district; Ms. Nguyen Thi Be, head of the Disabled Women's Club in Duy Xuyen district and 33 members of the club.

During the meeting, under the chair of Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Be, the members enthusiastically participated especially the Q&A session. Information about the state's legal policies related to people with disabilities was shared in detail and easy to understand. In addition, topics related to loan support, subsidies, legal policies, etc. and related questiones were also explained by Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Huong. Also, the Executive Committee of the club and the members discussed plans and directions for activities to maintain the regular activities of the club.

This is an regularly important activity for the development of the Club. This activity not only helps to connect members, but also becomes a useful playground for exchange, learning, and mutual support, as well as facilitating timely sharing of the Party's policies, state laws, and access to other policies in the province. In the coming time, Duy Xuyen’s Women with Disabilities Club will continue to promote activity plans to provide positive assistance for disabled women in the district and the Vietnamese disabled community as a whole.
