OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS (PHASE 2016 - 2024) ACDC – an organization of and for persons with disabilities – was established in 2011 with the mission “Sharing Vision, Bringing Empowerment” Over more than a decade, ACDC has not only developed a wide range of service models and advocated for policy change but also strengthened and expanded networks of organizations and groups of persons with disabilities, while spreading the message of “leaving no one behind.” During the 2016 – 2024 period, ACDC made remarkable breakthroughs across these areas, reaffirming its strong commitment to improving the quality of life and promoting sustainable inclusion for the disability community. Let’s take a closer look at the outstanding milestones ACDC has achieved on its journey from 2016 to 2024.

Persons with disabilities speak out against gender-based violence

Gender-based violence is accepted as“normal” “I always think that persons with disabilities suffer from gender-based violence because they have disabilities. Moreover, this is a private family matter, so if other people know about it, they will laugh at it, and the women might even be beaten more by their husbands for being big mouths”. This is what V.T.T.T., Duy Thu Commune’s OPD, Duy Xuyen District, Quang Nam Province, said.

International Youth Training Program in Turkey

From June 9 to June 15, the International Youth Training Program was held in Kocaeli, Turkey. The activity under the project “Enable the Cooperation, Disable the Barriers” is implemented by ACDC under the Erasmus+ Program funded by the European Union. This is a project that aims to strengthen the capacity of youth organizations including youth with disabilities in youth activities at the local, national and international levels, as well as, increase their active and sustainable participation of youth and promote sustainable cooperation among NGOs.
