Ms. Dang Huynh Mai, President of the Vietnam Federation on Disability, gave an opening speech

In her opening speech, Ms. Dang Huynh Mai, President of the Vietnam Federation on Disability, shared: "Today's commemorative ceremony not only aims at the Vietnam Day for Persons with disabilities 18/4, but also a great opportunity for us to express gratitude to organizations and individuals who have been and are accompanying, supporting the development of persons with disabilities in Vietnam in general." She expressed her desire that in the coming years, the list of honored individuals and organizations will continue to be expanded, contributing to the development of the community of persons with disabilities in Vietnam.

Mr. Dang Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the VFD Standing Committee, sharing his thoughts

Mr. Dang Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the VFD Standing Committee, shared his thoughts on the significance of this year's theme: "Although advancements in digital technology have brought about great opportunities to solve development and humanitarian challenges while achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, there is also a risk of reinforcing persistent forms of discrimination and inequality. Inequality is increasingly evident in the context of digital innovation and technology, where persons with disabilities are left behind due to discrimination in the digital field. Therefore, the need for comprehensive and transformative technology and digital education is crucial for a sustainable future. Hence, this year's theme, "Digital transformation: Innovations and technologies for all," is an opportunity for us to recognize the challenges faced by persons with disabilities and to realize the necessity of finding solutions."

In addition to the celebration and announcement of the theme for this year's Vietnam Day for Persons with Disabilities, the event also honored individuals who have made positive contributions to the happiness of persons with disabilities.

Ms. Phan Thi Quynh Nhu (second row from the left), Deputy Head of the Legal Policy Board of the Vietnam Women's Union, was awarded a commemorative medal.

Expressing her feelings when receiving the commemorative medal "For the Happiness of Persons with Disabilities," Ms. Phan Thi Quynh Nhu, Deputy Head of the Legal Policy Board of the Vietnam Women's Union, said: "I am extremely honored and happy to receive this precious medal. With the support of VFD, the ACDC Institute, and myself, I have advised the Vietnam Women's Union on many activities and models for women with disabilities across the country. However, these activities are still very small, so in the future, with my responsibility, I will try to advise more activities to support disabled women across the country and help them include better and develop better."

Ms. Le Ha Van, USAID, expressed her emotions when receiving the commemorative medal.

Ms. Le Ha Van, USAID, and a member receiving the commemorative medal, also said: "This year marks my 20th year with the beloved community. I hope that you and your colleagues will continue to give us the opportunity to participate with you in creating positive and beautiful things."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Director of the ACDC Institute, was also deeply moved by the journey of building ACDC with the accompany of VFD in recent years.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Director of the ACDC Institute, was also deeply moved: "This occasion, 12 years ago, ACDC was also have a chance to welcome the Chairman and the staff of VFD at Guest House No. 2 Hoang Cau to organize the launch ceremony. And perhaps the destiny of ACDC has been associated with the Federation since then. It seems that any important event of ACDC always has the guidance of the Federation's leaders, and any important event of VFD also has the presence of ACDC. Today we are honored to receive the commemorative medal of the Vietnam Federation on Disability for 13 staff members of the organization, which is a source of pride."
