As part of the project "Promoting transparency and the participation of people in managing the state budget" funded by the European Union (EC) through Oxfam, from 19th to 21st of October 2015, ACDC Center cooperated with partner organizations to organize a seminar “summary of 6-month activities and building of budget transparency union strategy”. The aim of this seminar was to summarize and share operational experience from the first 6 months of the project and build some of the Union's strategies.
Conference participants were representatives of the People's Council of Hoa Binh and Quang Tri provinces, Farmer Union of Hoa Binh province with Oxfam, Center for Development and Integration (CDI), Centre for Community Empowerment (CECEM), Center for Educational Support and Capacity Building for Women (CEFEW).
Over three working days, deputies shared their activities that took place in the first six months of the project, especially focusing on distribution criteria and performing vocational training programs transparently. They also asked people’s opinions for criteria of distributing budget for investment and development in Hoa Binh, scored the selected medium-term public investment portfolio in Quang Tri; and discussed lessons learned for upcoming activities. Besides, the delegates built together a representative part of Union Budget Transparency, operation regulation, vision, strategy and some orientation for the organization.
In the near future, the organization will continue to carry out projects aimed towards common goals of transparency and the participation of people in managing the state budget. It will also continue its work on promoting the image of the Union to the outside.
