Assessment and Training on the UN’s Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities documentation” Seminar

From January 27th to 29th, 2016, ACDC Center has organized the “Assessment and Training on the UN’s Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities documentation” seminar in Hanoi.

This activity is in the framework of the project namely “Monitoring, Assessment and Implementation of UN’s Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Vietnam” collaboratively implemented by ACDC Center and CBM organization. 

The seminar has provided its participant with basic knowledge on 06 contents of the UN’s Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) documentation, including: The Convention itself; Disability laws and related policies; Inspecting and monitoring the implementation of the UN’s CRPD (to support independent reports); Policies Advocating; Communication and developing the social groups. The seminar’s participants  were 20 disabled people representing 16 associations from all over the country. The lecturers were the experts who have edited the 6 contents of the documentation: Dr. Tran Thai Duong & Dr. Nguyen Hien Phuong – Lecturers from Hanoi Law University; Mr. Vu Ngoc Binh – Senior advisor at Institute for Population, family & children studies; Mrs. Do Thi Hai Linh – PAN Nature; Lawyer Nguyen Thi Bich Diep – Technical counsellor of JIFF fund; MSc Nguyen Thi Lan Anh – Director of ACDC Center and Mr. Tran Duc Hai – Counseling expert of ACDC center. 

During 3 days of the seminar, the participants have discussed and gave feedbacks on the 6 contents of the documentation, helped the experts in readjusting and completing the documentation. 

The documentation is supposed to be completed and published in March, 2016.
