Dear Partners,

The year of 2015 is drawing to a close and it’s time to review the past successful and failed practices; and to prepare for the New Year which poses new challenges and promises.

The past year was a year of challenges but also noted the proud achievements of Action to the Community Development Center (ACDC), ACDC has implemented legal aid service for about 2,000 disabled people through a free consultation locally, via phone, email,...; held 20 training courses to improve capacity for disabled people, conducted legal training course for key officials in disabled people groups/ organizations; continued to maintain and develop the project namely "Cactus Blooming" to support and implement reproductive health care for disabled women; implemented the project in supporting for disabled people organizations participating in the process of monitoring, evaluation and implementation of the Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities in Vietnam, starting the project which called "Protecting the rights of persons with disabilities"; successfully organized the photo contest "Stories of Feet"; supported and connected with 5 ministries related to disabled people such as the Ministry of Health, MOLISA, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Transportation and Ministry of Education and Training;... In particular, the establishment of the representative office of ACDC in Hue province located in Central of Vietnam in November is a new challenge and an opportunity in which also affirms our commitments on the path of action for the rights and the interests of disabled people in Vietnam.

In the next year of 2016, we will continue to accompany with the organization of disabled people in supporting and promoting the formation and development of Associations of disabled people locally. In addition, regarding the support for organizations of disabled people to participate in the process of monitoring and implementing the Convention, ACDC will always be a trusted bridge for partners on the issues related to people with disabilities; continue to maintain and develop the system of free legal counseling; organize the training programs of policy and legislation, skills in leadership, supervision, evaluation and advocacy for the key staffs of associations / groups of people with disabilities; always be ready to speak out and act in order to promote building and developing the transportations, public works and assisted tools which are accessible to people with disabilities. Besides, the Centre will continue protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women and girls with disabilities; expanding the cooperation with partners which target the same goals for a society without barriers for people with disabilities in Vietnam.

Owning these above success, the Centre would like to thank profoundly partners, donors who have always cooperated and supported us in the recent years. We hopefully receive more cooperation and whole hearted support from you in the future for the common goal of sustainable development of the disabled community in Vietnam.

On the occasion of Christmas and New Year 2016; ACDC would like to show our respect and deep gratitude to our friends and associates who have accompanied ACDC throughout the year. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Sincerely!
