As one of the activities of the project “Protecting the rights of Persons with Disabilities” from 2015to 2019 funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID), at the end of February 2016, ACDC Center has conducted the training course and workshop of DPO establishment procedure in Thua Thien Hue and Binh Phuoc – two provinces of the project area.
The main purpose is to provide the knowledge and skills related to DPO establishment procedure for PWD in project area and to make an agreement as well as the effective coordination between the stakeholders in order to promote the progress of local DPO’s establishment.
On 25th and 26th February 2016, the training course namely “Skills training and promoting DPO establishment” and the workshop on Sharing experiences in DPO establishment was held in Thua Thien Hue province. The participants included the representative of PWDs groups and families of children with disabilities, leaders of Division of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs, Division of Home Affairs of Hue City and A Luoi District – the stakeholders who involved in the establishment of local DPOs.
Later, on 29th February and 1st March 2016, in Binh Phuoc province, the two events as training course on Training of the DPO establishment procedure and Sharing experiences in DPO establishment were also held. The skilled and reputable PWDs and parents or families of children with disabilities, who can join in the activities of the coming DPO; the leaders of Division of Home Affairs, Division of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Xoai Town; the province-level, district-level and town-level staffs, have attended the two programs.
After the activities, the participants have gained the knowledge and skills to actively take part in promoting and carrying the necessary procedure to establish local DPOs. At the same time, the competent authorities have also showed the cooperation and support to the DPOs’ establishment.
