From November 28th through 29th, 2016, ACDC collaborated with provincial disability organizations and USAID funded project managers in Thua Thien Hue for “Support to Disability, 2015-2018” to coordinate a Training in Communication Day seminar in Dongdo Hue City.
40 participants from the Association of Disabled People joined training at the provincial, municipal, and district level, alongside a local unit from the Luoi district in the process of founding its own branch.
Communication training concepts included the component roles of media, social communication channels, and basic communication skills. Additionally, students learned methods to construct their own media plans so that local disabled leadership groups could learn how to help their members apply for work in media.
“Support to Disability 2015-2018” is expected to organize more project activities for capacity building among key officials in Thua Thien Hue, particularly through a free mobile consultancy for people with disabilities in the province.
