Skills in writing thematic reports on the implementation of policies to support persons with disabilities

From May 17-18, 2022, nearly 25 core members from nationwide organizations/groups/clubs of persons with disabilities participated in the training "Skills in writing thematic reports on the implementation of policies to support persons with disabilities" conducted by the Action to the Community Development Institute (ACDC) on the online platform Zoom.

Sharing in the opening of the training course, Ms Nguyen Thi Lan Anh – Director of ACDC hoped: "The training course will support delegates to have more skills and knowledge on how to write policy reports. ACDC will also accompany delegates in particular and  organizations/groups of persons with disabilities in general to develop thematic reports related to policies to support persons with disabilities, towards completing the CRPD report in the next stages."

Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Hien Phuong, Deputy Director - Institute of Comparative Law, Hanoi Law University gave detailed instructions on the "Method of making reports" for the participants

Under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Hien Phuong, Deputy Director - Institute of Comparative Law, Hanoi Law University, the trainees were instructed in writing policy reports. At the same time, the training also supported editing and supplementing information for the thematic report that the groups of participants carried out within the framework of the project "Enhancing access to information for persons with disabilities and organizations of persons with disabilities" funded by CBM.

The skills required in writing thematic reports are specifically communicated by the lecturer, with steps taken to obtain the most accurate report. Throughout the training, participants joined in research activities, and group discussions, and practice exercises to master the lessons that were imparted. At the end of the training, the participants shared that they are ready to apply the skills learned in the training to complete the best quality report in the coming time.

This training activity is within the framework of the project "Enhancing access to information for persons with disabilities and associations of persons with disabilities" funded by CBM. The project expects that after the activities have been implemented, the capacity of advocacy in general and monitoring the implementation of CRPD in particular for organisations/ groups and individuals with disabilities will be enhanced.
