The project aims to reduce gender-based violence against women and girls with disabilities in Nghe An province by enhancing the capacity of women and girls with disabilities and their communities to address gender-based violence, and by strengthening legal counseling and support for women and girls with disabilities.

The purpose of this project is to disseminate in-depth knowledge about the right to education for girls with disabilities, enhance the capacity of women and girls with disabilities in monitoring disability rights, promote gender equality, and positively transform the awareness of both the community and people with disabilities regarding disability issues.

To reduce violence against women and girls with disabilities (WGWD) and promote their rights by raising awareness and building their capacity to respond to sexual violence.

This project was implemented over a four-month period, from November 2017 to February 2018, with two key objectives successfully achieved: (1) To raise awareness among women and girls with disabilities (WGWDs) in order to strengthen their voice in advocating for their rights; and (2) To improve local infrastructure to better protect girls with disabilities (GWDs) in public spaces from potential acts of violence. In this context, the public lighting system was selected for enhancement.

Developing clubs for WGWDS is one of the priorities in the project’s initiative to minimize sexual violence. Thanh Khe District WGWDs Club was established to meet the needs of exchanging and sharing information, along with helping each other in life.

From September 27-28, 2022, in Hanoi, a training course for the TOT group on prevention and response to gender-based violence against women and girls with disabilities in the online environment" was held. The activity is within the framework of the project “Enhancing the information accessibility for persons with disabilities and organizations for persons with disabilities” funded by CBM.

On July 28, 2022, the Workshop on “Reporting survey results of gender-based violence against women and girls with disabilities” took place in Quang Tri. The activity was jointly held by ACDC and the Organization of Persons with Disabilities, Agent Orange Victims, Protecting Persons with Disabilities and Protecting Children's Rights.
