More than 100 delegates attended the closing conference of the project “My Right to Learn – Phase 2” in Cao Bang. The project achieved many positive outcomes in promoting inclusive education, supporting children with disabilities, and strengthening the participation of persons with disabilities in the community.
On May 28th, 2026, in Cao Bang, ChildFund Vietnam organized the closing conference for the project “My Right to Learn – Phase 2” (VN04-037), with the participation of more than 100 delegates from provincial departments and agencies in Cao Bang and Thai Nguyen, as well as representatives of local authorities from the project areas.

Contributing to the success of the project was the continuous professional and technical support from experts of the Action to the Community Development Institute (ACDC) and the Research Center for Educational Equity and Inclusion (RCEEI), the Vietnam National Institute of Educational Sciences.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Ta Quang Toi – Vice Chairman of Hanh Phuc Commune People’s Committee and Head of the Project Team – shared many positive outcomes achieved by the project. Notably, 90–98% of children with disabilities in the project areas had individualized education plans developed and implemented. The project not only contributed to improving teachers’ capacity in inclusive education but also helped persons with disabilities gain confidence, gradually overcome barriers, and participate more actively in community life.

At the conference, delegates listened to 07 summaries and practical sharing presentations, including 04 presentations on inclusive education and effective practice models in Cao Bang and Thai Nguyen; 01 presentation on the project’s outcomes and impacts by an independent expert; and 02 practical reports from local associations and self-help groups of persons with disabilities.
Among them, the Quang Hoa Self-help Group of Persons with Disabilities (Cao Bang) shared the results of developing and operating a hybrid free-range chicken livelihood model. With the project’s initial support, many members have achieved stable incomes, notably Mr. Dam Van Kien with an annual income of 50 – 60 million VND. The group is also working toward establishing an official Association of Persons with Disabilities in the locality.

Meanwhile, the Association of Persons with Disabilities in Na Ri Commune (Thai Nguyen) has become a strong support network for 168 members through various outstanding activities, including the establishment of five inclusive playgrounds, connections with the “Nuoi Em” program to support children in mountainous areas to attend school, and the development of vocational orientation and livelihood models. A notable example is the Eastern Medicine wellness spa model, which generates an income of more than 9.1 million VND per month for persons with disabilities. In particular, the Association has proactively mobilized resources from international organizations such as CRS, and 13 young persons with disabilities were honored in the “Toa Sang Nghi Luc Viet” program.
As Phase 2 ends, the project “My Right to Learn” has not only created educational opportunities but also provided livelihoods, confidence, and motivation for persons with disabilities to affirm their value, actively participate in, and contribute to their communities.
