From 22 – 24 June 2026, a delegation from the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam and the National Action Center for Toxic Chemicals and Environmental Treatment (NACCET) conducted a regular monitoring visit to the Inclusion 2B Project in Quang Ngai Province. The visit was organized within the framework of the project funded by the U.S. Government through the U.S. Department of State in Vietnam.
The delegation included Ms. Marialice Ariens, Representative of the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam; Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Secretary of the Inclusion Project Management Board; Mr. Do Ngoc Hoa, Deputy Director of the Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Health; Ms. Truong Hien Anh, Deputy Project Director of Inclusion 2B, HI Vietnam; and representatives of the project's implementing organizations, including IC, CRS, MCNV, and ACDC.

During the visit, the delegation toured Quang Ngai General Hospital No. 2, where the Transition House model has been established with technical assistance and equipment provided by ACDC. The delegation observed rehabilitation services currently being delivered at the hospital. To date, the hospital's Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation has begun implementing a Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) rehabilitation model while officially putting the Transition House model into operation. These achievements reflect the joint efforts of multiple project partners: MCNV has provided professional training for healthcare staff; IC has supported the development of multidisciplinary rehabilitation services and on-site technical mentoring; CRS has strengthened services for persons with severe disabilities; and ACDC has provided technical support and equipment for the Transition House model.
The delegation also attended the handover ceremony for rehabilitation equipment and the inauguration of the Multi-disciplinary Rehabilitation Unit at the Kon Tum Mental Health Treatment and Care Center, followed by a visit to the Center's residential care facilities. These facilities were established with support from IC and CRS under the project. The rehabilitation unit adopts a comprehensive approach, featuring physical therapy rooms, occupational therapy, psychosocial support, music therapy, and an outdoor rehabilitation area, all designed to support both the physical and mental recovery of persons with mental health conditions receiving long-term care and treatment. The intervention aims not only to improve physical functioning but also to enhance emotional well-being, cognitive functioning, and independent living skills within a safe environment under professional supervision.
The delegation visited the “Joy Station” area and the physical activity area installed at the Kon Tum Social Work Center
The delegation further attended the inauguration of the Joy Station and visited the newly established outdoor recreation and rehabilitation area at the Kon Tum Social Work Center. The Center currently provides long-term care for 133 social protection beneficiaries, including 56 persons with disabilities and 11 children with disabilities. Joy Station, supported by CRS, consists of activity rooms designed to provide educational support, life skills development, and vocational orientation for children and young people with disabilities living at the Center. In parallel, IC has been delivering multidisciplinary rehabilitation services at the Center since 2024. To date, more than 105 persons with disabilities have received multidisciplinary rehabilitation services, with 97% demonstrating improvements in activities of daily living.
The delegation visited a household of a person with disabilities who received livelihood support from ACDC Institute under the Inclusion 2B Project
Throughout the visit, the delegation also met several persons with disabilities who have benefited from livelihood support provided by ACDC. Among them was Ms. Y Tha, whose monthly household income increased from less than 2 million VND to 6 - 8 million VND after receiving support to establish a small grocery shop combined with livestock raising. Another beneficiary, Mr. Dinh Van Hoang, received start-up capital to open a stationery shop, enabling him to gradually achieve greater financial independence.
The visit provided an important opportunity for donors, partners, and implementing organizations to review the project's achievements while discussing ways to further strengthen the quality and sustainability of rehabilitation and social inclusion services in the next phase.
