Ngày Wishbone được tổ chức vào ngày 6 tháng 5 hàng năm. Đây là một ngày nhận thức quốc tế về bệnh tạo xương bất toàn, bệnh giòn xương hay còn gọi là bệnh xương thủy tinh (Osteogenesis Imperfecta – OI).

Ngày Wishbone được khởi xướng bởi các tình nguyện viên ở Úc vào năm 2010 và đã phát triển trở thành sự kiện OI quốc tế lớn nhất với sự đóng góp của hơn 90 quốc gia.

Ngày Wishbone là ngày đề cao tiếng nói của những người mắc bệnh xương thủy tinh, đề cao những đóng góp của họ trong gia đình, xã hội cũng như những thách thức khi sống chung với bệnh.

Màu vàng là màu đại diện cho Ngày Wishbone, vì nó tượng trưng cho sự lạc quan và một tương lai tích cực.

Chị Nguyễn Thị Lan Anh, Viện trưởng ACDC là một trong số những người mang trong mình bệnh hiếm gặp này (tỷ lệ mắc phải khoảng 1/20000). Tuy vậy, từng ngày, chị vẫn đang đóng góp không ngừng nghỉ cho sự phát triển, hòa nhập của cộng đồng người khuyết tật tại Việt Nam.

Hue city: Completion of home-based rehabilitation intervention cases for persons with disabilities and agent orange victims

On August 15 – 16 and 22 – 23, 2026, the Action to the Community Development Institute (ACDC), in collaboration with the Organization of Persons with Disabilities – Protection of Persons with Disabilities and Orphans of Hue City , Hue City Rehabilitation Hospital, local authorities, and commune/ward health stations, organized the closing of home-based rehabilitation (RH) intervention cases for 78 persons with disabilities and Agent Orange victims. The activity is part of the project “Enhancing livelihood and well-being of persons with disabilities and Agent Orange victims in Hue City, Vietnam,” funded by Green Cross Switzerland (GCCH) through ACDC.

86 persons with disabilities and agent orange victims receive prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices in Hue city

On 13 – 14 August 2026, Action to the Community Development Institute (ACDC), in coordination with the Hue City Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans and relevant agencies, completed the provision of prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices to 86 persons with disabilities and Agent Orange victims in 11 communes and wards across Hue City. This activity followed the prosthetic and orthotic fitting and trial process conducted in July 2026. The activity was implemented under the project “Livelihood Support and Quality of Life Improvement for Persons with Disabilities and Agent Orange Victims in Hue City,” funded by Green Cross Switzerland (GCCH) through ACDC.

On August 11, 2026, the Ministry of Health issued Decision No. 2559/QD-BYT on the Master Plan for the implementation of the Program for Assistance to Persons with Disabilities for the 2026–2030 period.
