Quang Tri: Acceptance of 5 access ramps in Cam Lo and Trieu Phong districts

Five access ramps in Cam Lo and Zhao Phong districts, Quang Tri province were adopted by ACDC and the Association of Persons with disabilities, Vietnam association for victims of Agent Orange, Disability Protection and Child Protection of Quang Tri Province on June 4, 2021. Mr. Thai Vinh Lieu – Chairman of the Association of Persons with Disabilities, Vietnam Association for victims of Agent Orange, Sponsoring Persons with Disabilities & Protecting the Rights of Provincial Children and officials of the Commune Association of Persons with disabilities, officials of Cam Lo and Trieu Phong District Association along with some persons with disabilities in the area also participated in the acceptance of works.

This is the result of more positive and proactive changes of local officials after participating in training courses on "Technical regulations in the field of construction to ensure access to use by persons with disabilities" for construction officials, investors, the project management board and officials of the Association of Persons with Disabilities are implemented by the project "Enhancing opportunities and enhancing the status of persons with disabilities". Participating in the training has helped students understand the QCVN 10:2014/BXD standards for persons with disabilities to access and use as well as raise awareness about ensuring access to works. 

Outreach works for persons with disabilities at Thon Ai Tu Village Community Culture House

In particular, with the technical support and advice of ACDC, the Association of Persons with Disabilities, NNDC, BTNKT&BVQTE of Quang Tri province has encouraged the capital of benefactors to build 5 works including ramps, handrails and seams that have been completed. These outreach works support persons with disabilities to participate in community activities in the most convenient and independent way.

Mr. N.D.T. head of Lam Lang 2 village, shared: "There are more very good slopes, not only support for persons with disabilities to enter and exit village cultural houses easily but others can also use."

The joy of persons with disabilities when accessing wheelchair support constructions for them

Ms. L.T.T. who is a person with disability in Thon Ai Tu village shared: "From now on, the village culture house can go up on my own without the support of others. I feel much happier and more confident."

Along with the project, the Association of Persons with Disabilities has been making more efforts to promote the supervision of public works to ensure access to works for persons with disabilities for use with the expectation of improving the quality of life for local persons with disabilities in the future.

Da Nang: Mid-term monitoring of livelihood support for households of persons with disabilities

In the early days of the new year, from January 6–7, 2026, the ACDC Institute coordinated with the Da Nang Department of Health and local authorities to conduct a mid-term monitoring visit of livelihood support activities for 15 households of persons with disabilities in seven communes of the city, including Thang An, Thang Dien, Thang Phu, Duy Xuyen, Nam Phuoc, Thu Bon, and Duy Nghia.

Sewing machines provided to support livelihoods for women with disabilities in Hue

In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, on 6 February 2026, the Action to the Community Development Institute (ACDC) organized the handover of sewing machines and equipment for home-based garment production to two households of women with disabilities in Hue City. The programme was supported by “Love, Tito’s”. The handover took place following a period of assessment, preparation, and completion, with the aim of enabling persons with disabilities to work stably from home, gradually increase their income, and improve their quality of life.
