Wishbone Day is celebrated on May 6th each year. This is an International Awareness Day on  Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) colloquially known as imperfect bone formation disease or brittle bone disease. Wishbone Day is a day to highlight the voices of people with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, their contributions to family and society as well as recognize the challenges of living with the disease.

Let’s wear something with yellow - the color representing Wishbone Day and share positive messages to raise awareness about OI in the community!

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh - Director of the Action to the Community Development Institute (ACDC) shared: “I am a person with Brittle Bone. So many of my bones have been broken that I could not count anymore. People might think that persons with Brittle Bone or “glass bone” are fragile, but we are still making non-stop contribution to the community and society.

On the occasion of the World Wishbone Day, I would like to send my thanks to the persons with “glass” bone like me who dare to brave and make contribution to an “unbreakable” society, to join hands to create a positive and inclusive future for all!”
