Quang Tri: Inclusive job fair - Empowering opportunities for all 2026

A welcome performance at the 2026 “Inclusive Job Fair – Empowering Opportunities for All” in Quang Tri Province

The event aimed to create a space for direct connections between persons with disabilities seeking employment and businesses, government agencies, employment service providers, and organizations providing support. It also provided an opportunity for the wider community to gain a fuller understanding of the capabilities, aspirations, and potential contributions of persons with disabilities to the labor market.

The job fair was attended by Mr. Thai Vinh Lieu, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the the Association of People with Disabilities, Victims of Agent Orange, and the Association for the Protection of Children's Rights in Quang Tri province; Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Director of ACDC; Mr. Ho Tan Canh, Deputy Director of the Department of Health; Mr. Thai Huu Lieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Phan Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Director of the Employment Service Center; representatives of the Center for Creative Initiatives in Health and Population (CCIHP), Medipeace, and HI; as well as more than 70 persons with disabilities, representatives of businesses and government agencies, and local press and media agencies.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Thai Vinh Lieu, Chairman of the Association of People with Disabilities, Victims of Agent Orange, and the Association for the Protection of Children's Rights in Quang Tri province, said: “Finding employment is already a difficult challenge for many people, but creating employment opportunities for persons with disabilities is even more challenging. In reality, despite years of efforts by training centers to connect job seekers with employers, the number of businesses willing to employ persons with disabilities remains very limited. Therefore, I hope that today’s event will open up meaningful and practical opportunities. I have confidence in this event organized by ACDC, as ACDC has consistently worked effectively alongside our Association and the community of persons with disabilities through many projects.”

During the program, participants learned about vocational training and employment policies for persons with disabilities, policies supporting businesses that employ persons with disabilities, job-search skills, and employment connection programs between job seekers and employers in Quang Tri Province. Importantly, the event also brought together businesses and organizations with recruitment needs, giving persons with disabilities an opportunity to meet employers and learn directly about available positions.

This year’s “Inclusive Job Fair – Empowering Opportunities for All” welcomed 11 businesses participating in recruitment. Together, they offered more than 200 job opportunities across a wide range of positions, including garment workers, sales staff, sales representatives, customer service staff, maintenance technicians, production workers, and other positions.

In addition to recruitment booths, the job fair also featured booths displaying products made by persons with disabilities. These included conical hats, chenille stem products, traditional incense, cinnamon incense, broom grass products, dried pepper products, and other handicrafts and local products. The event demonstrated that persons with disabilities are not only job seekers, they can also be producers, entrepreneurs, business owners, and creators of products and practical value for their communities.

Ms. Vo Diem Suong, a representative of FPT Telecommunications Joint Stock Company, Quang Tri Branch, said:“Our company is currently recruiting sales staff. The candidates interviewed today are very well suited to the positions we are looking to fill. They have the knowledge and skills needed to meet the company’s job requirements.”

Mr. Ho Van Huy from Ben Quan Commune shared: “I currently do delivery work from home, but I have quite a lot of free time in the afternoons. Therefore, I hope to find a part-time or online job at the job fair. One of the businesses has also accepted my application and invited me to proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process. I am very happy because I did not expect to find such a suitable job opportunity.”

In her closing remarks, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Director of ACDC, emphasized: “Employment is a fundamental right and an important foundation for persons with disabilities to live independently, build confidence, and participate equally in social life. Persons with disabilities are not lacking in ability. What they need are equal opportunities, accessible information, an accessible working environment, and reasonable accommodations so that they can make the most of their abilities. Creating employment opportunities for persons with disabilities cannot solely be the responsibility of persons with disabilities or a single organization alone. It requires the joint efforts of government agencies, businesses, employment service providers, organizations of persons with disabilities, families, and society as a whole. That is also the meaning behind the message ‘Empowering Opportunities for All.’”

By the end of the program, 64 people had received employment counseling, 56 people had participated directly in recruitment interviews, 25 people had been accepted for job training, and 12 persons with disabilities had proceeded to the next stages of the businesses’ recruitment processes.

Through the Inclusive Job Fair, stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting an inclusive labor market where persons with disabilities have equal access to employment opportunities, can develop and demonstrate their capabilities, and make positive contributions to the development of their communities.

The event was organized as part of the Inclusion - 1Project, implemented in three provinces/cities: Quang Tri, Hue, and Da Nang. The Inclusion - 1 Project is a component of the broader Inclusion Project, officially titled “Improving the quality of the life of persons with disabilities in provinces heavily sprayed with Agent Orange in Vietnam”, funded by the United States Government. The Ministry of National Defence is the project owner, while the National Action Center for Toxic Chemical and Environmental Consequences (NACCET) is the project implementing agency. The Center for Creative Initiatives in Health and Population (CCIHP) manages the project in the Central region, and ACDC is one of the organizations implementing the project in the three provinces.
