From August 1 to August 6, 2025, the project “Independent living and social inclusion for persons with disabilities in Quang Tri, Vietnam” carried out activities to support persons with disabilities in Quang Tri province. These included the trial of prosthetic and orthopedic devices, conducting home-based functional rehabilitation interventions, and providing assistive devices. ACDC and the Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) collaborated to host a training session on the subject of preventing gender-based violence against persons with disabilities in Quang Tri province on March 16 and 17, 2023. More than 41 representatives from communal health stations, legal aid offices, OPDs, and women's unions from districts including Huong Hoa, Dakrong, and Hai Lang attended the course. The program was designed to increase participants' understanding of gender-based violence against women with disabilities as well as their capacity to identify, screen for, and handle such situations.

Transportation is a vital sector that contributes to increasing the opportunity for persons with disabilities to access other sectors, for instance, education, employment, healthcare, etc. In other words, removing barriers for persons with disabilities in the transportation sector will enhance their social assitance. Hence, apart from installing accessible bus stations, raising awareness for service providers in this sector is also critical. Training on disability equity and skills on working with persons with disabilities implemented by ACDC on February 24 also aimed at the above goals.

The activity was organised by the IAction to the Community Development Institute (ACDC) in collaboration with the Quang Tri Provincial Project Management Board in Hai Lang district on December 15-16, 2022. The purpose of the free reproductive health check-up is to improve access to health care services in general and sexual-reproductive health in particular for women with disabilities while raising awareness and self-protection and health care for women with disabilities in the province.
