Following the success of the “Run with Persons with Disabilities” events held in 2019 and 2025 in Quang Tri, and in 2023 in Quang Nam, the 2025 edition of the event, titled “No Distance, No Limits”, took place on the morning of June 23, 2025. The event was held at Thuan An Beach No. 2, Thuan An Ward, Hue City. This activity was co-organized by the Action to the Community Development Institute (ACDC), the Hue City Department of Health, and the Association of Persons with Disabilities – Protection of Persons with Disabilities and Orphans of Hue City. It is part of the project “Support to Improve the Quality of Life of Persons with Disabilities in Provinces Heavily Sprayed with Agent Orange,” implemented in Quang Tri, Hue City, and Quang Nam.

The event aimed to raise community awareness about persons with disabilities and disability-related issues, enhance opportunities and elevate the status of persons with disabilities. It also sought to contribute to breaking down barriers and promoting the active participation of persons with disabilities in sports as well as other social activities.

A performance of the dance piece "Hearts of Vietnam" was delivered by a team of professional dancers.

The “Run with Persons with Disabilities: No Distance, No Limits 2025”” event was held for the first time in Hue City and marked the fourth time the event has been organized nationally by the Action to the Community Development Institute (ACDC). The event welcomed delegates representing both central and local levels, including Mr. Hoang Trong Quy – Deputy Director of the Hue City Department of Health; Dr. Nguyen Van Tu – Head of the Central Branch of the National Action Center for Toxic Chemicals and Environmental Treatment (NACCET); Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh – Director of ACDC; and Mr. Dinh Man – Chairman of the Hue City Association of Persons with Disabilities – Protection of Persons with Disabilities and Orphans. Approximately 200 participants took part in the event, including around 140 persons with disabilities from various organizations, as well as representatives from local government agencies, security forces, volunteers, and media outlets.

Mr. Hoang Trong Quy, Deputy Director of the Hue City Department of Health, delivered the opening speech

In his opening remarks, Mr. Hoang Trong Quy, Deputy Director of the Hue City Department of Health, emphasized the importance of improving health, promoting active participation, and empowering persons with disabilities. He stated: "This is not merely a sporting event, but an opportunity for each of us to demonstrate solidarity, empathy, and affirm that everyone deserves respect, love, and the opportunity to rise above challenges—regardless of circumstances or differences in ability. Every step we take today carries a powerful message to society: Let us overcome barriers together and build an inclusive community—where no one is left behind."

Persons with disabilities took each stride to overcome barriers and move forward

Dr. Nguyen Van Tu, representing the Central Branch of the National Action Center for Toxic Chemicals and Environmental Treatment (NACCET), shared the following:"This event aligns with our goal of improving community attitudes toward persons with disabilities, helping them overcome feelings of inferiority and self-doubt, and encouraging greater inclusion. At the same time, it raises public awareness on disability issues, fostering a more inclusive society where persons with disabilities can live fully integrated lives — all toward the ultimate goal of leaving no one behind."

The run was designed along a route of 1 to 3 laps, with each lap approximately 500 meters long - a distance suitable for the majority of persons with disabilities. Participants were encouraged to choose a distance of at least 2 laps or more, depending on their health and individual capabilities. The event aspired for each participant to become a source of inspiration, igniting a movement for sports and physical well-being within the broader community — especially among persons with disabilities.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Director of ACDC, presented medals to persons with disabilities who completed the race distance

Speaking about the meaningful event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Director of ACDC, expressed her heartfelt emotions:"Under the theme ‘No Barriers, No Limits,’ the event gathered over 140 persons with disabilities, representing more than 30,000 persons with disabilities living in Hue City. We believe this is not just a run for health, but a run of hope, resilience, and connection — a space where differences are no longer barriers, but rather the very elements that shape the rich diversity of our society. I hope that every step taken today will inspire persons with disabilities, spread humanistic values, and empower each individual to overcome obstacles and confidently move forward on their own journey.”

After completing her race, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai Nhi from the Club of Women with Disabilities in Thuan Hoa District shared:"This is a wonderful and meaningful event for persons with disabilities in Hue City in particular, and for persons with disabilities across the country in general. It gives us the opportunity to integrate into the community and to express ourselves — no matter our circumstances — as long as it’s within our ability. Today, I’m truly happy to have connected and interacted with friends from different districts and areas, without any distinction of region. I just want to say: with love and sharing, there is nothing we cannot overcome together.”

The event concluded with resounding success, surpassing expectations. It truly created a friendly and inspiring sporting space, imbued with humanistic values, contributing meaningfully to the journey toward an inclusive and equitable society — where no one is left behind.
