The establishment of the Club for Women with Disabilities marks a significant step forward in empowering women to raise their voices and integrate more effectively into the community. The club also serves as a platform to share and provide information on issues related to persons with disabilities, address members’ concerns, and organize activities on topics such as gender-based violence prevention, accessibility and independent living for persons with disabilities, caregiving skills, and support for production development, among others.

At the event, Ms. Lê Thị Thanh Nhàn, a member of the Club, shared:"I was born a healthy, normal person like everyone else. However, a sudden accident took away my arm and shattered all my dreams and hopes for the future. Then, when I met Ms. Nguyễn Thị Hà, a member of the Disabled People’s Association of Huong Thuy Town, I saw that she also has a disability like me, but she is always cheerful, open, and sociable. She is especially active in many local activities. I also noticed that Hà is very positive in life, participating in supporting other members with disabilities and taking on many programs organized by the Association. With a strong will to rise above challenges and contribute to the community, I deeply admire this spirit and am eager to join activities that help me integrate more fully, gain confidence, and connect with sisters who share similar circumstances.Right at this moment, I feel that I have conquered myself by confidently standing up to share a few words. This has become the motivation for me to overcome feelings of shame and insecurity to better integrate. From today onward, I officially become a member of the Huong Thuy Town Club for Women with Disabilities."

In particular, through upcoming activities and monthly meetings, the Club promises to bring many positive changes to women with disabilities in Huong Thuy Town, contributing to spreading these positive values to more women with disabilities in Huong Thuy Town specifically, and Thua Thien Hue Province in general.

This activity is part of the project “Supporting the Improvement of Quality of Life for Persons with Disabilities in Provinces Severely Affected by Agent Orange” (shortened as the Inclusion 1 Project), implemented in Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri, and Quang Nam provinces during the 2023–2026 period. The project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and led by the National Action Center for Remedying the Consequences of Chemical Toxicants and Environmental Pollution (NACCET) under the Ministry of National Defense. ACDC Institute is one of the implementing partners, operating under the management of the Center for Community Health and Population Initiatives (CCIHP).
