Thua Thien Hue province: Establishment of club of women with disabilities in Phong Dien district

On June 28, 2022, the launching ceremony of the Club of Women with disabilities in Phong Dien district was held. The activity was implemented by ACDC in cooperation with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Women’s Union, the Association of Persons with Disabilities of Phong Dien district.

More than 100 participants including 56 persons with disabilities attended the launching ceremony. Particularly, the event also had the presences of Ms. Dam Viet Ha - Vice Director of ACDC, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet - Vice President of Provincial Women's Union, Mr. Truong Dinh Be - Vice President of Thua Thien Hue Association for the Support of Handicapped and Orphans, Mr. Ho Van Minh - Head of Social Assistance Division, the Provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Mr. Tran Quang Cuom - Head of Standing Committee of Phong Dien District, Mr. Tran Ngoc Bang - Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Phong Dien district, and  Ms.Tran Thi Ly - Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Phong Dien district and leaders of the People's Committees of communes and towns and leaders of the Women's Unions at commune and township levels.

At the ceremony, the Women’s Union of Phong Dien district read the Decision No. 74/BTV on the establishment of the Club of women with disabilities. Accordingly, the club was founded with 22 members at the beginning. The regulations and rules of the club was approved and the Executive Committee was also elected in this event. Ms. Le Thi Van was elected as the club's president for the term 2021-2026.

Ms. Dam Viet Ha, Vice Director of ACDC attended the ceremony and sent her congratulation to the club. She hoped the club will develop sustainably and work effectively in order to help women with disabilities to better integrate in the life. Also, she expressed her wish that there will be other similar clubs to be established in the future.

Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Anh, Chairwoman of the Club of Women with Disabilities in Thua Thien Hue province was also invited to the ceremony and shared about her experience in running the club in the past time which was a lesson and also motivation for the Club of Women with disabilities in Phong Dien District.

Ms. Tran Thi Ly -  Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Phong Dien district shared: “This is the first club of women with disabilities at district level which is established to meet the desire of disabled women. Thanks to the support of the Inclusion 1 project, we have made every effort to have the establishment of the club approved. The club shall be a home for all members to exchange knowledge and share experience to make their life happier and bring benefit to women and girls with disabilities. Through activities, members of the club can improve their knowledge about law to understand their civic duties and better protect themselves.”

Ms. Truong Thi Huong, a member of the club said “We are so excited when the club is established. Though there are only 22 members at the beginning, I guess more women with disabilities will join us in the upcoming time. We are so grateful to the project and agencies that bring us a place to share with each other.”

Right after the launching ceremony, the contest “Nutritional Meal for family” was organized on the occasion of Vietnamese Family Day by the Club of women with disabilities in cooperation with the Women’s Union of Phong Dien district. It was a practical activity for members of the club.

Quang Ngai: Handover of equipment and inauguration of a transition house

On 3 February 2026, the Action to the Community Development Institute (ACDC), in collaboration with the Quang Ngai Department of Health, organized the handover of equipment and the inauguration of a Transition House at Quang Ngai General Hospital No. 2. This is the eighth Transition House supported and put into operation by ACDC within its national network, contributing to improved rehabilitation quality and supporting persons with disabilities to gradually strengthen independent living skills and participation in community life in a sustainable manner.
