Activity
On September 6–7, 2025, ACDC Institute, in collaboration with the Department of Health of Da Nang City, Quang Nam Traditional Medicine Hospital, and Thang Binh Regional Medical Center, organized the activity “Training on Care Skills for Caregivers.” The event was attended by 42 caregivers and family members of persons with disabilities from the communes of Thang An, Thang Phu, and Thang Dien in Da Nang City.
The activity aimed to provide and share essential knowledge and care skills for caregivers at home, help them develop individual care plans, and guide them on key care aspects tailored to the specific conditions of the persons with disabilities. The training was delivered by a team of nurses from Quang Nam Traditional Medicine Hospital and Thang Binh Regional Medical Center.

Through diverse teaching methods such as presentations, demonstrations, video screenings, case simulations, group practice, hands-on guidance with sample cases, and home visits, participants were introduced to the following key topics: (1) Personal hygiene; (2) Oral hygiene; (3) Sleep care; (4) Medication management and chronic disease prevention; (5) Nutrition and feeding; (6) Fall prevention; (7) Epilepsy prevention and management.
Mrs. P.T.M.T – the mother of a person with a disability from Thang An commune – shared: "I found the instructors' sharing very practical. Each of us comes with our own story and challenges in caregiving, but thanks to the empathy and understanding from the instructors, our burdens felt somewhat lighter. I sincerely hope the project will expand this kind of training so more families with persons with disabilities like ours can access such useful information and skills. Thank you so much to the project.”

Mr. L.S – the father of a person with a disability from Thang Phu commune – expressed: "This is the first time I've participated in such a meaningful and joyful program. I not only learned valuable knowledge but also had the chance to practice care skills at home such as fall prevention, proper nutrition, and medication management. These lessons are truly valuable to me—not only for taking care of my child but also for my own health, as I am getting older. I sincerely thank the project, the organizers, and all those who were dedicated to making this program happen."
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang – Nurse at Thang Binh Regional Medical Center – shared: "I came to this training in the spirit of exchange, listening, and sharing, not as someone giving a lecture. As a result, I learned a lot from the real-life experiences of the caregivers. These are valuable lessons that I will apply in my own patient care. Thank you to the project for giving me this opportunity."
This activity was conducted within the framework of the project “Support to Improve the Quality of Life of Persons with Disabilities in Provinces Heavily Sprayed with Agent Orange,” implemented from 2024 to 2025 in three provinces: Quang Tri, Quang Nam (now Da Nang City), and Hue City (formerly Thua Thien Hue Province). ACDC Institute is one of the implementing partners under the management of CCIHP and the National Action Center for Toxic Chemicals and Environmental Treatment (NACCET), which serves as the project owner.
