On March 26, 2023, the ACDC Institute organized a training course for parents and caregivers of children with disabilities in Hanoi with the theme: Online safety for children with disabilities. The training course had the participation of 26 parents and caregivers of children with disabilities. The activity is part of the project "Prevention of physical and mental violence and discrimination against children with disabilities" (AVAC) implemented by ACDC with the support of the Hong Kong Children's Rescue Organization and the coordination of the Children's Rescue Organization in Vietnam.

ACDC and the Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) collaborated to host a training session on the subject of preventing gender-based violence against persons with disabilities in Quang Tri province on March 16 and 17, 2023. More than 41 representatives from communal health stations, legal aid offices, OPDs, and women's unions from districts including Huong Hoa, Dakrong, and Hai Lang attended the course. The program was designed to increase participants' understanding of gender-based violence against women with disabilities as well as their capacity to identify, screen for, and handle such situations.

Transportation is a vital sector that contributes to increasing the opportunity for persons with disabilities to access other sectors, for instance, education, employment, healthcare, etc. In other words, removing barriers for persons with disabilities in the transportation sector will enhance their social assitance. Hence, apart from installing accessible bus stations, raising awareness for service providers in this sector is also critical. Training on disability equity and skills on working with persons with disabilities implemented by ACDC on February 24 also aimed at the above goals.

The physical environment at home and outside the community has a significant impact in the ability of persons with disabilities to live independently and to better integrate into society. In other words, it is crucial to figure out how to create a safe house or public works access for the disabled so that they can live independently and readily take part in community activities. According to the Impact Assessment Report on gender-based violence against women and girls with disabilities of the project "Strengthening opportunities and enhancing the status of persons with disabilities – phase 2", a significant proportion of women and girls with disabilities have experienced gender-based violence in various forms. This report also points out that the skills of stakeholders to support women and girls with disabilities experiencing gender-based violence still have certain limitations; inter-sectoral coordination to prevent gender-based violence has not yet been highly effective.

The activity under the project “Enable the Cooperation, Disable the Barriers” is implemented by ACDC under the Erasmus+ Program funded by the European Union. Physical access is one of the key factors in promoting social assistance for persons with disabilities.
