Gender-based violence is one of the issues that has been receiving much attention from the whole society, especially gender-based violence against disadvantaged groups. As part of a series of activities to enhance the prevention of gender-based violence against persons with disabilities, on June 16-17 in Thua Thien Hue province, the ACDC collaborated with the Project Management Unit to organize a training course on “Gender-based violence against persons with disabilities for health staff and legal staff”.

The training course took place successfully and attracted more than 40 officials of the Health sector, Legal Aid, Women's Union, and the Organization of Persons with Disabilities from the provincial level to district and commune levels of 3 localities: Huong Tra town, Quang Dien district. and A Luoi district. In addition to the knowledge and skills on preventing gender-based violence, trainees were also able to analyze cases of victims of violence as well as share real-life stories in the locality. Especially in the training, steps to manage a case of violence and the connection model between relevant agencies were mentioned and illustrated very specifically by the trainer. Thereby, groups of local officials’ networks were formed to share information, monitor, support, and timely counsel for victims of violence.
