In response to the Month of Action for Children 2026 and on the occasion of International Children's Day June 1st, the Center for Social Work and the Children's Protection Fund under the Hue City Department of Health organized the “Festival for Children in Special Circumstances 2026” in Hue City on June 3rd 2026. The event aimed to create a recreational and interactive space where children receiving care at social protection centers and child care facilities across the city could participate in activities, socialize, and showcase their talents and interests. In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, on 6 February 2026, the Action to the Community Development Institute (ACDC) organized the handover of sewing machines and equipment for home-based garment production to two households of women with disabilities in Hue City. A series of major storms and floods – No. 10, 11, 12, and 13 – in late 2025 devastated large areas of northern, central, and Central Highlands provinces, leaving tens of thousands of households submerged, losing property, and facing disrupted livelihoods. Persons with disabilities, who are among the most heavily affected groups due to limited mobility and reduced capacity to respond to emergencies, were identified as those in urgent need of assistance.
